Comparison

Comparison is the act of analyzing the features, uses, or functions of two or more things to determine their similarities and differences or their degree of inferiority or superiority. For example, comparisons can be applied to the ideologies of parenting and child-rearing. An assessment of all parenting styles—including the features, advantages, and disadvantages of each one—is a type of comparison. Identifying the similarities and differences among children who are raised with different parenting styles in order to assess the results of each parenting style is another form of comparison. Comparison is useful in all aspects of life because it allows people to evaluate several options, helping them make informed choices to achieve the best outcomes.
