A pediatrician is a specialized doctor who is trained in the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. While most pediatricians work in hospitals, they can also be contracted to work in children’s homes, juvenile penitentiaries, and women’s prisons. A pediatrician can be either a man or a woman as long as they meet the requirements and qualifications. Training usually lasts for six to twelve years.
