Bifidobacteria

Bifidobacteria is a group of anaerobic bacteria usually inhabiting the mouth, vagina, and gastrointestinal tract of humans and mammals. This type of bacteria can benefit people’s health since it is a probiotic found in milk products like yogurt and cheese. The main function of bifidobacteria is to boost human immunity. Bifidobacteria are useful in preventing diarrhea, constipation, irritable bowel movements, influenza, and the common cold and can be applied wherever normal bacteria are compromised to prevent the death of good bacteria. In most aspects, they are the opposite of antibiotics. Bifidobacteria are naturally present in young children, especially infants who ingest breast milk regularly, and they build strong immunity in children as they grow. Other methods are used to generate plant-based or dairy-based bifidobacteria that are present in other milk products besides breast milk.
