Caffeine

Caffeine is a legal psychoactive drug that acts as a stimulant to the human central nervous system. In fact, caffeine is one of the most ingested drugs in the world. It has a somewhat bitter taste and is found in beverages like tea, cola, and coffee. In coffee, one of the world’s most popular beverages, coffee beans are ground into a powder and then mixed with water, which extracts the caffeine in a process called infusion. Caffeine makes people less drowsy, improves performance and activity, and increases concentration. Although it is considered safe, caffeine has some lasting effects when consumed in large amounts, especially in pregnant women. It produces reactions similar to other drugs and can have traumatizing withdrawal symptoms, such as headaches and migraines, sleepiness, irritability, sleep disruption, and increased bowel movements.
